You can more effectively respond to God's call upon your life, by receiving a seminary education. Now, quality training is available at an affordable cost and without giving up your present job or ministry position to relocate to a distant city.
FAITH COVENANT THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY was established in cooperation with an evangelistic ministry, as a "Bible Studies Institute" in 1976, offering Certificates of Completion for its programs. Today, it is an educational division and ministry agency of the Faith Covenant Community Church of America, a Florida non-profit corporation and is governed by the church's Board of Trustees. The purpose of this, evangelical seminary is to provide biblically sound, higher Christian education and vocational training for Ministers, Evangelists, Missionaries, Pastoral Counselors, Denominational Workers and practical ministry skills development for the Christian Laity. The degree programs of F.C.T.S. are designed solely for religious vocations.
The Seminary operates under the guidelines of Florida's Commission On Independent Colleges and Universities and is exempt from licensure by the State of Florida under section 246 of the Florida statutes.
Students of all racial and ethnic backgrounds may apply for admission. Ecclesiastical degrees from F.C.T.S. do not qualify the holder to teach in state supported schools, or make them eligible for any state occupational licensure or certification. F.C.T.S. training may prove helpful to students, preparing to teach in Christian Day Schools. However, situations and denominational ministry employment requirements vary greatly. Students should investigate the appropriateness of F.C.T.S. studies to their life and career aspirations, prior to enrollment. The seminary does not offer job placement assistance.
The F.C.T.S. curriculum is biblical, scholarly and doctrinally sound. Programs of study range from the Bible Institute Certificate through the Doctoral level in six major fields. The student's ministry setting becomes a laboratory for experiential learning and in effect serves in meeting academic residency requirements. Each semester hour is equivalent to 15 academic/contact hours.
*F.C.T.S. is a "Certified Academic Institution", affiliated with the National Christian Counselors Association. Through this relationship, students may pursue N.C.C.A. certification as Biblical/Pastoral Counselors.
We offer traditional classroom instruction at our Palm Harbor, Florida campus. However, all of our courses are designed for independent external study.
At the time of enrollment, students are assigned a faculty advisor to guide them through their curriculum track. Required text materials are included in course costs. Collateral books may come from personal or public libraries; a nearby college; or a book and Bible store. Authors outside our reading list may be selected with F.C.T.S. approval. This allows students to learn from evangelical writers, espousing doctrinal views similar to their own. These materials are optional and involve additional expense.
LIFE EXPERIENCE & TRANSFER CREDIT
F.C.T.S. may award up to six credits for each year of documented ministerial and/or appropriate career/life experience. No greater than 48 credits will be so awarded and Life Experience Credits cannot be awarded on the Doctoral Degree level, unless that experience is reflected in original written works, on a topic deemed acceptable by F.C.T.S. All such materials must be as a result of ministry and not as the result of any other academic pursuits.
Transfer of Credits: F.C.T.S. may accept for credit, courses completed with a grade of C or higher at other Bible Colleges Seminaries, and Universities. However, a minimum of 30 credits must be earned through F.C.T.S. for the awarding of any degree. The transfer of credits earned at F.C.T.S. to another school, is at the sole discretion of the receiving institution. Students preparing for advanced studies at another institution should investigate the prerequisites, before matriculating with F.C.T.S.
